hello everyone Not the most popular people in the CAMHS Waiting room as we took 1.5 hrs but we have a psychiatrist who has done us a great service today. She has written to say; 1) Gemma's needs cannot be met within a family. She needs specialist round the clock care to be able to integrate her persona's. 2)Gemma's needs a therapeutic community. Her educational, social and living needs need to come under a 24 hr therapeutic programme it is impossible to deliver in any other way. 3) We remain her parents and it is no different to a child going into a boarding school or hospital to live in. this should be set up immediately. 4) She is to be seen at the Gt Ormond street specialist hospital unit for further investigation in due course. 5) This should be achieved through tripartite funding. I would have thought Social Services will have to do it. They will have to! SURELY. She is the final medical/ therapeutic person we needed to see. which means that 2/3 of people there are in agreement who are experts in the field of adoptive and like families! We have a supportive friend who has got a therapeutic community place for her lovely young lady. The Psychiatrist gave me a hug. What a nice lady! Now for the big meetings tomorrow how to be a velvet bulldoser

This is wonderful news for all of you. The young person concerned will get the appropriate help in her residential 'boarding' school and her holidays can be spent at her home with her family when she is more stable! I cannot see any objections to this from a non-medical person Jenni. it is going to be fine my darling.
Sending lots of good luck for tomorrow,
Will be thinking of you,
Eleanor x

Hi Jenni,
Sounds like you had a very good meeting with all the experts present and being supportive. I think the only hurdle that you now have to face is with the funding agreement. Not sure how it's done in your area, but what usually happens is that a social worker collates the reports from the respective professionals involved to form a multi-disciplinary needs assessment and then presents the case to a panel who hopefully will agree the funding. In your case funding will have to come from health, education, and social services.
Good luck and hope all goes well tomorrow,
Love,
